Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Warung Terompong, a hidden gem nestled on Jl. Raya Nusa Dua Selatan, just a stone's throw from the beautiful shores of Benoa. This charming eatery embodies the spirit of local Balinese cuisine, offering a delightful array of authentic Indonesian and Chinese dishes. If you’re in Nusa Dua and craving some home-style cooking, this family-run warung is an absolute must-visit.

As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the warm hospitality of the husband-and-wife team who operate the restaurant. Their welcoming demeanor makes you feel right at home, complemented by the comforting aroma of freshly cooked dishes wafting through the air. Guests rave about the eatery’s exceptional value for money. Customers like Ashley Joseph have described it as a "lovely little hole in the wall," where the fried fish and prawns in butter garlic stunningly showcase the quality of the seafood available in Bali.

One of the highlights on the menu is undoubtedly the Nasi Goreng, a traditional fried rice dish that has garnered numerous accolades from patrons, including Sally Foord, who claims it as her favorite. The meal is meticulously prepared, featuring a perfect blend of flavors that honor the dish's authentic roots. Similarly, the Mie Goreng Ayam, another customer favorite, packs a delightful punch with every bite—especially for families like Kevin Shomglin’s, who found the portions just right for both adults and children.

The atmosphere at Warung Terompong is rustic yet vibrant, with most diners being locals rather than tourists. This adds a unique charm, where one can truly experience the local culture through food. While some may find the street noise a tad distracting, it adds to the authenticity of the experience. Derek Nakashima found this place to be a treasure just moments away from his hotel, affirming that it is "cheaper than anywhere else in Bali."

What sets Warung Terompong apart is not just the food, but the genuine love and care that goes into every dish served. Lauren’s experience highlighted the charming service, noting that even with an unexpected level of chili spice, she enjoyed her meal far more than at a nearby resort. Dining here feels like sharing a meal with family, making it truly special.

In conclusion, Warung Terompong is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary experience that combines affordability with quality, served by some of the warmest hosts you could hope to meet. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, make sure to stop by and savor the flavors of Bali at this delightful dining spot.

What a lovey little hole in the wall eatery! The owners are so sweet and hospitable. I had the fried fish and the prawns in butter garlic and it was amazing. It’s really cheaper than most places around.

Cheap and cheerful authentic Indonesian and Chinese food! Exceptional value for money and the family that runs it is so lovely. We went here four times during our 5 day stay in Nusa Dua and will definitely be back. The Nasi goreng was our favourite!

Small local warung with many more locals than tourists (we were the only ones for most of our dinner). Agreed with earlier review about wok hei. This was evident in the nasi goreng ayam. We also had the mie goreng ayam, ikan goreng sambal, fried chicken with vegetables in butter sauce, cay kangkung, and 2 bintang to round out the meal. The portions were right sized for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids were fans of the fried rice and fried fish. Hard to beat the value for the tasty meal. The street noise might be a little loud for some, but it is a road side warung, so it is part of the charm Update: have gone back twice. The older couple owners were warm and kind. My kid tried the chicken noodle soup and ate it all.

A great place we found just outside our Nusa Dua hotel. Dad & Mom shop. And the prices were cheaper than anywhere else in Bali that we have gone too. A MUST

Delicious food, friendly service. More chilli than I’m used to but easily moved to the side. I enjoyed my very cheap meal here more than the one in the resort earlier in the day.

The cutest little local eatery run by a ma and pa team. Short walk from The Marriott Courtyard, Mercure and The Grand Bali hotels. They cook everything fresh as it's ordered and the food comes out very quickly. So friendly, very very reasonably priced. I'm so happy I found this little gem, we went there twice in 2 days since we have found it. Would have gone there everyday if we stayed longer! I hope they will still be there when we come back. Support the locals! 160k RP fed 4 happy people.

Amazing find nearby much more expensive resorts, food roughly a tenth of the cost versus hotels, and unbeatable taste and freshness. Lovely owner welcoming us with a warm smile every time. Only downside is no A/C!

Local Chinese food at its best! The dishes showcase a delightful wok hei flavor, indicating skillful cooking. The fried chicken is a standout, perfectly crispy and paired harmoniously with a flavorful sambal—just the right balance of spice and moisture. The Chinese-style fried eggs omelette (fu-yong hai) with vegetables is a tasty and wholesome addition. Finally, the fried beehoon with shredded chicken is a delicious treat. With generous portions and affordable prices, this place is a definite win.
